An easy way to cost your window renovation project.

 
By following the steps outlined below, you can easily obtain a price for your window renovation project.The following steps will indicate what we need in the way of information to effectively give you an estimate without you having to leave your home. Nearly as easy as ordering a pizza, right?

 

Use this Microsoft EXCEL SPREADSHEET, (right click and save target as..) which will make it very easy for you to relay the required information to us. Send it back to us when you are done to obtain your pricing.
  STEP 1.  Measuring:
Measure your windows from either the outside or the inside of the house. Make sure that you take the measurements including the frame of the window, and not only the visual glass part of the window. If you are measuring from the exterior, indicate the brick to brick measurements.
Hint: Make a schedule sheet which indicates quantities and in which room each window is located. Always indicate window size by width X height.

  STEP 2.  Description: - Describe what model of window you wish to obtain a price on. Description should include:
a) type  casement,slider,awning,double hung, bay, bow.
b) number of sections  indicate how many sections the window will have, and if they are operating sections or fixed sections. use the following indicators X=operating, F=fixed
example: a three section window with two operating casements is indicated as XFX, where as a two section with one operating window is indicated as FX, or XF, always viewed from the exterior of the building.
c) material  indicate whether the window required is Wood, PVC, or Aluminum
d) color   ------indicate the color of the window required.
(pvc windows are only available in white.)(wood with alum. exterior flashing has various colors)
e) glazing options ------indicate the glazing required in the windows

f) depth of window ------indicate the box depth of the windows.....measure the depth of the window from the inside to the outside of the frame. (Many depths are available for specific applications. A brick wall usually requires an approximate 7-1/2" to 8-3/4" box depth, whereas a vinyl or aluminum clad wall requires a 5-1/2" to 7" box depth. If windows are to be retrofitted into an existing frame, then note "standard depth".
