About Warmedge Technology

Warmedge Technology ....huh?
The easiest explanation lies within the word itself. Warm & Edge........In sealed glass units using an aluminum spacer to separate the two panes of glass, conduction can reduce the overall insulating performance of the sealed glass unit. Often, on cold days, one can notice condensation on the interior pane of glass, usually on the bottom and sometimes spanning a few inches up the sides of the glass. The research and development in finding new spacer products to ensure the reduction or total elimination of this condensation has been named Warmedge Technology.

Are there different types of warmedge spacers?
Currently, there are quite a few manufacturers offering different types of warmedge spacers, ranging from combination of metal/foam,pvc and even butyl spacers. All of these basically have the same function: To reduce condensation on the perimeter of the glass and thereby enhance total energy efficiency levels.

Does this add a lot of extra cost to my window purchase?
Naturally, only the sun rises free of charge, but Warmedge Spacers, as a value-added product, one could say, are worth their weight in gold............As an overall addition to your window purchase, the cost is negligible, and very soon most manufacturers will be using it as a standard item in any sealed glass unit.

How can I find out more about these warmedge spacers?
